What a lovely little hut. We’ve loved staying here this weekend and it very well though out with lots of storage, games etc. providing us with plenty of entertainment during the evenings – i beat my husband twice at monopoly! It never happens usually!
The trips to Lewes castle and Brighton. We cooked here but there looks to be plenty of place to eat out and about.
We would definitely recommend to our friends and family for a peaceful, relaxing stay. Thank you!
Lisa and Tom
The holiday was great, although the weather was a bit rainy we were never bored with the large variety of board games. My favourite part was the fire pit. The dogs loved it and you are always cosy when your inside. This holiday was great and will be remembered. We saw deer every day.
Olivia aged 10
Wonderful, private hut, really secluded, kids and dogs loved it. Our teenage son chatted to us more this week than in the last year! Thats a bonus. Loved The Cock Inn, Brighton was lovely. Clare has thought of everything.

Really enjoyed getting back in touch with our rural past. Saw an owl fly over and a sparrow hawk checking the oaks for supper. The swing is great – what are those bee-heaven flowers near to it?
Riess, Sol and Reuben
What a fantastic place! So peaceful and nothing better than sitting by the fire and watching the sun go down. The kids loved the swing and the hut was great – the bed is really comfy!
Calvin, Helen, Patrick and Juliet
Thank you sooooooo much for an amazing stay. We loved every second of it! We especially loved the swing. The view is amazing and waking up every morning and looking out of the window was great.
Lots of thanks Millie, Annabelle and Granny

Absolutely perfect stay. We fell in love with The Rolling Downs! We spent a lot of time here, reading, playing games, snoozing, walking, having fires and so many mugs of tea. We also explored Wakehurst Place and went to Brighton too. Mostly we just wanted to be here – its so cosy and perfect and an excellent break away from children and work! Thank you.
Johnny and Laura
What a lovely place. Nice and peaceful for a quiet break away, we will bringing the children next time, they will love it here. The hut is warm and cosy, the bed is so comfy, best nights sleep had in ages. Will definitely be coming back to this lovely place.
Jamie and Kelly
We have loved our stay in the shepherds hut! It is beautiful – lovely hut, pretty surroundings in such a peaceful spot.
The hut has everything we could need and has been so much warmer than we expected! With the woodturner on we were super toasty! Ella was very excited about her mini-bunk and your kingsize bed is one of the comfiest I’ve slept in – beats hotels hands down!
We’ve enjoyed exploring the surrounding land, a train ride from the wildfowl park and the fire pit campfire!
Even though we only live a short ride away in Brighton, we’ve been able to ‘get away’ here and introducing our daughter to the best aspects of camping while being safe, secure and toasty warm in such unique accommodation.
We’ll be back! Thank you!

We have all had and amazing weekend, the last one in my thirties! Our son loved all the walks in the fields, the swing and the train ride, we have never done anything like this before but we will do it again. Singing by the fire pit and getting muddy in the forest looking for witches huts was all fun, back to The Green Man for lunch. Trips to Brighton and Eastbourne were great too and the weather was perfect, woke up to rain on the roof the first day then sunshine after that. Thanks for letting us stay here.
Sadie, Mark and Toby
What a splendid two nights we’ve had here! The shepherd hut had everything we could possibly need. On our first night, we had a brilliant dinner at The Pelham Arms and the next morning we set off on a walk from Lewes station, past The Anne of Cleeves housing then down Juggs Lane where we found the old windmill. We had a delicious lunch at The Juggs pub in Kingston village and then bought lots of lovely supplies from the Spring Barn Farm shop. On our second night we made a rather impressive campfire/BBQ in the fire pit, it worked a treat!
Now we are off to explore the motor cars and wildfowl round the corner and were heading to Charleston Farmhouse and The Ran Inn later. Very sad to leave The Rolling Downs – we will come again! Thank you!
Teegan and Tom
We’ve had a lovely three nights here – mixed weather but pleasant and so comfy in hut we don’t want to leave! Loved the miniature railway and the eldest had a great time at Branching Out. Very tasty pizzas from the nearby campsite for an easy dinner, otherwise had a bbq and big fire outside on the last night. A fab break, thanks.

Altogether a very lovely holiday, we will definitely come again

The shepherds hut looked exactly like the website! I love the colours of both huts. The boys enjoyed the tree swing, BBQ fire and miniature railway.
We went to Branching Out and tried the high ropes – lots of fun!!
The beds were comfortable and the suspended bed is a good idea. Great having kitchen and bathroom in the hut. The shower stayed warm for three showers in a row and was better than expected! A lovely escape to the countryside.

We had a magical stay and can’t wait to come back.
Sarah, Jess and Hari
What a real treat to have breakfast overlooking beautiful countryside and to sit in the evenings with a cosy campfire
toasting marshmallows on sticks. Our four year old son loved his high bunk and the simple freedom of going off to play on the swing or ride his bike around.
The hut had everything we needed to enjoy our three night stay and even when we had rain showers a windy walk on the beach or an adventure in the woods soon had the rain forgotten. The hut was so warm, so no need for the stove.
Added bonuses were being able to get entry to house and gardens throughout our stay after paying once. Entry to the playground even when the house was closed! We saw the barn owl fly across approx 20.30and enjoyed the Green Man pub, Seven sisters, Seaford, Lewes castle and beautiful country walks.
Thank you so much.

We really enjoyed our stay, the whole place was a delight. We met Ingrid and cousin and i must say what lovely ladies they are, funny, kind and very interesting. We shall be back next month as i would love to spend more time in the daisy garden, stunning beautiful place!!!
Many thanks for a great stay and looking forward to my return. I really enjoyed the birds also but my whole favourite was the garden, the house and the stunning view. What a happy feel to the whole experience.
15th – 17th July 2016
Thanks for a great stay. The hut was perfect for me and my little boy to spend the weekend together – a perfect little adventure with enough luxury to keep mummy happy. We had a fun packed weekend – Drusilla’s on Friday, a family party on Saturday and Bentley Park on Sunday.
We hope to be back!
