If you are looking for an outdoor experience with nature on your doorstep, but like you’re home comforts then the The Rolling Downs can offer you all of this and more……..
Sit in bed and enjoy watching the wildlife around the shepherds hut and without having to leave the hut you can have a hot shower and make breakfast with the well equipped kitchen.
Children can enjoy the cosy sleeping bags with fun beds, and during the day enjoy a game of rounders, skittles or noughts and crosses.
We are perfect for a romantic break or a family holiday……
‘An Ode to the Shepherds Hut’
You are far from being a humble Shepherds hut with your colourful crockery, spotty cushions and striped blinds you have been decorated by someone with a flair for style.
Your eco credentials are second to none, a wind powered shower that better than our one at home!
Whether spending time with family or friends there is a multitude of books and games to suit every age.
Dinky kitchen and fridge, so much fun to use. Food tastes better here – i wonder why?
At night-time with the wood-burner fired up and toadstool night lights lit you are magical and that’s before we even begin to investigate all the wildlife just outside our door.
Soft sheets, comfy bed, what better place to drift off to the land of dreams.
Oh Shepherds hut we love you so. There will always be a place for you in our hearts.
Charlie, Dave, Cole, Mary and Ian.

Brightonmums.com came to stay……..
Thanks for a wonderful stay at the Rolling Downs.
We were literally blown away by the hut, how beautiful, well-equipped and comfortable it is. Every design aspect has been considered, you’d have to be extremely picky to fin fault.
My 4-year-old couldn’t get enough of the ‘high bed’ sitting up there to read stories and play games. And the swing was a big hit.
None of us are real ‘campers’ but have when we were kids. The Rolling Downs has all the advantages of camping without any of the disadvantages.
To be honest, when i saw the proper coffee i was totally sold!
Thanks again Claire, Lexie, Callie and Hannah.
A perfect day

‘A perfect place to spend a very special birthday! We have enjoyed an idyllic weekend in this magical shepherd’s hut in beautiful sunshine too. So peaceful, so cosy, so wonderful – the children want to take it all home with us – so do I!!’

Wow, fab, peaceful, amazing, are some of the words that spring to mind.
Bird watching, fox watching, batting were just too wonderful to put into words – we are bat-watchers/listeners, so took the advantage of bringing our bat box.
The whole experience was TRULY impressive. Waking up at dawn with the chorus was a true melody, then sitting in bed drinking champagne and watching a fox is what the countryside is all about.
Your hut seems to be a labour of love, every detail thought about. My husband being an engineer was very impressed with all the detail, like the screws all lined up vertically. Well done, wishing you both of you every success.

Freshly cut asparagus
Just a short distance away from the shepherd’s hut is a farm selling fresh asparagus, try grilling them over the fire pit then add a little butter, salt and black pepper – delicious!
