We are perfect for a romantic break or a family holiday……
‘An Ode to the Shepherds Hut’
You are far from being a humble Shepherds hut with your colourful crockery, spotty cushions and striped blinds you have been decorated by someone with a flair for style.
Your eco credentials are second to none, a wind powered shower that better than our one at home!
Whether spending time with family or friends there is a multitude of books and games to suit every age.
Dinky kitchen and fridge, so much fun to use. Food tastes better here – i wonder why?
At night-time with the wood-burner fired up and toadstool night lights lit you are magical and that’s before we even begin to investigate all the wildlife just outside our door.
Soft sheets, comfy bed, what better place to drift off to the land of dreams.
Oh Shepherds hut we love you so. There will always be a place for you in our hearts.

A perfect day
Customer review 21-3rd July
‘A perfect place to spend a very special birthday! We have enjoyed an idyllic weekend in this magical shepherd’s hut in beautiful sunshine too. So peaceful, so cosy, so wonderful – the children want to take it all home with us – so do I!!’

Side by side
We are always ready to make our new guests experience special and want everyone to enjoy their stay in ‘The Rolling Downs’ shepherds hut’s.
Come and enjoy a special celebration as many have chosen to or a family adventure – we have plenty of games in the hut and lots of outside space to run free and a lovely swing in the big oak tree!
The beds are comfy and made up in fresh white linen – this will help you on your way to a good nights sleep with only the sound of nature around you.
Every guest is important to us and we want you to feel welcome and expected.
Join us for a cup of tea!
We are having an ‘open afternoon’ this Sunday 27th May from 2pm so please come and join us for a look around our Shepherds huts and indulge in a cup of tea and a tasty homemade treat.
We look forward to meeting you.
A moment of contemplation!
Brett’s been busy building our new shepherds hut with two full size bunk beds and a locally sourced wood burning stove built by Martin from ‘Iron Art’ near Polegate.
There are peg rails and little shelves at the end of the beds made by a friend and joiner Dave Lucas, there is also a lovely ladder up to the top bunk. It is about to be painted throughout in ‘salisbury stone’ ready for our guests arrival.
It has been a little makeshift with a work bench on the back of a sawn off landrover in the field at Bentley! I cannot wait to get in there with the new blinds and bedding, should be finished in the next couple of weeks.
Iron Art's wood burning stove built especially for The Rolling Downs' new shepherds hut
Brett's best workbench yet. Thanks to Landrover.
